What is Tenure and how do you qualify?
Complaints (as described in Article 7 or CBA)
A "Complaint" is an allegation by United Academics involving substantive adademic judgements.
A "complainant" is the faculty member or the party alleging a complaint.
Grievances (as listed in Article 7 of CBA)
A "Grievance" is:
i. An allegation by United Academics that there has been a specifically cited allegation of procedural errors or omissions made in reaching decisions involving academic judgement; or
ii. an allegation by United Academics or the University that an express term of the Agreement has been violted, misinterpreted or imporperly applied; or
iii. an allegation by United Academics that there has been a violation of Regents' Policy or University Regulation to the extent it concerns a term and condition of employment as defined in the Public Employment Relations Act.
A "Grievant" is the faculty member or the party alleging a grievance.
How to file a Greivance?
Greivances can be filed, by contacting the United Academics office. We will collect your information and ask for a detailed report of what the greivance is and what steps you have taken to resolve the issue on your own. Please visit our Forms and Documents page to fill out a Greivance form.
