TO JOIN UNITED ACADEMICS AAUP/AFT LOCAL 4996
Newcomers to the University
of Alaska Faculty, assigned by the employer
in accordance with the Collective Bargaining agreement as Bargaining
Unit Members, join our union by filling out a Dues Deduction Form,
which is available
here on the University of Alaska Statewide website.
Mail
or fax your dues deduction form to our office at (907) 474-2465.
We will process it and provide the information for Human Resources to
begin your automatic deductions.
Full membership in United Academics entitles you to all the benefits
available to us through our affiliates, AAUP and AFT, plus voting privileges
in our union elections.
All members, including those who choose to pay Agency Fees rather than
become full members, are represented by United Academics in negotiations
for the Collective Bargaining Agreement and other agreements between
the Union and the University. In addition, should any member need advice
regarding the grievance process, our office is ready to assist.
